A NPRM for the HIRE Vets Medallion Program was published in the Federal Register on August 18, 2017.
HIRE stands for Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act, which was signed by President Trump on May 5, 2017. The Program will recognize employers who recruit, retain, and employ veterans, and who offer charitable services in support of the veteran community.
The HIRE Vets Act requires the Secretary of Labor to establish a recognition program recognizing employer efforts. Comments can be submitted during the 30-day period using one of the following methods:
• Federal eRulemaking Portal: http://www.regulations.gov. Follow the website instructions for sending comments; or
• Mail or Hand Delivery Courier: Please submit all written comments (including disk and CD-ROM submissions) by hand delivery, express mail, messenger, or courier service to: Randall Smith, Veterans’ Employment and Training Service, U.S. Department of Labor, Room S-1325, 200 Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20210.
