Collaboration to improve enforcement and compliance assistance for Section 503

On September 11, 2020, the OFCCP signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Council of State Administrators of Vocation Rehabilitation (CSAVR). In advance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (October), along with the onset of Section 503 focused reviews, OFCCP believes that the partnership will provide a valuable disability resource to federal contractors.

The collaboration serves a dual purpose of providing compliance assistance to federal contractors on Section 503 and VEVRAA, and will improve the agency’s enforcement efforts.

The two organizations will share resources and information. The key collaborative efforts that OFCCP and CSAVR have committed to include:

• Including CSAVR as one of OFCCP’s disability-inclusion resources to which it refers contractors.
• OFCCP participating in the CSAVR annual conference.
• CSAVR sharing resources with OFCCP on disability awareness and topics related to the employment of individuals with disabilities, such as reasonable accommodations and using assistive technology in the workplace.
