OFCCP Enters into Conciliation Agreement with Baker & Taylor to Resolve Race and Gender-Based Hiring Discrimination

Baker & Taylor will pay $127,375 in back pay and interest

During a routine compliance evaluation, OFCCP found hiring disparities from January 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, against Black applicants for order picker positions and against male applicants for processing clerk positions. Baker & Taylor LLC has agreed to pay $127,375 in back pay and interest to 42 applicants to resolve the alleged hiring discrimination at the company’s Momence, Illinois distribution facility. The company will also evaluate its personnel practices, including recordkeeping and internal auditing procedures.

OFCCP has listed the settlement on its Class Member Locator to identify other eligible alleged victims.
