$35.6 million recovered for victims of discrimination
In a news release, OFCCP announced that during FY 2020 (October 2019 through September 2020) the agency had βthe best year for compliance assistance and the second highest year for monetary settlements.β During FY 2020 OFCCP recovered $35.6 million for victims of discrimination. The most productive period occurred in FY 2019 where OFCCP set a record for recoveries of $40.6 million.
During FY 2020 OFCCP also expanded its focused initiative to include VEVRAA, promotions and accommodations. In conjunction with these types of reviews, the agency published compliance assistance and best practice tools to assist contractors prepare for these audits.
OFCCP also touted the success of the Early Resolution Procedures Program, which was established in FY 2019, with β29 early resolution conciliation agreements comprising $47.4 million in back pay, $4.5 million in salary adjustments, 2,071 job offers and ongoing monitoring of approximately 525,000 employees to ensure equal employment opportunity.β
