EEO-1 Component 1 due by May 31, 2019; EEOC working with NORC on implementation of Component 2
Employers must submit and certify their data for the EEO-1 Component 1 report by Friday, May 31, 2019. Component 2 data submission is due by September 30, 2019. EEOC’s latest update to the Court on May 24, 2019 indicated that they have met with NORC to “discuss and plan the timely implementation of Component 2 data collection.” NORC submitted a draft Project Management Plan to the agency on May 14th which detailed its plan for executing the contract.
NORC is preparing a launch of an email and phone helpdesk to assist filers with questions and concerns about the collection of Component 2 data for 2017 and 2018. NORC is currently hiring staff and developing a training plan, along with EEOC, for the project. They are also developing a “three-tiered triage system with detailed specifications to receive and act on requests for filers, and triage responses.” EEOC and NORC hope to have a fully staffed helpdesk to be active around June 17, 2019.
On May 27, 2019 EEOC expects to receive the final Project Management Plan from NORC and will spend the next three weeks reviewing NORC’s draft training materials. On June 3, 2019 EEOC will provide an update to filers on the collection process which will include contact information for the NORC helpdesk.
Within the next three weeks, it is expected that the Commission will vote to approve the funding for the modification of Component 2. EEOC plans for the portal for submission of Component 2 data to open from July 15, 2019 through September 30, 2019.
