Director Leen shared plans for increased number of audits and more focused audits
On November 2, 2018 the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights held a public briefing titled “Are Rights a Reality? Evaluating Federal Civil Rights Enforcement.” According to PR Newswire, “the Commission will delve into the question: is the federal government satisfying its obligation to the American people to protect and vindicate their civil rights across the justice system and other issue areas, such as immigration, healthcare, employment, education, and housing?” Based on the information gathered at the briefing, the Commission will issue a report in the fall of 2019.
Acting OFCCP Director Craig Leen participated in a panel with current and former representatives from other government agencies. During his testimony, Leen shared his plans to increase the number of audits performed by the agency during this fiscal year to around 3,500 with about 500 focused reviews.
